These air-fried potato wedges are perfect for those looking for a healthier alternative to fried wedges. They are crisp on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside — just like your favorite fried wedges. The calories in air-fried wedges are less than those in deep-fried wedges, and they are also crispier than oven-baked wedges.

The perfect combination of herbs dipped with feta dip, these crispy potato wedges fried in the air fryer are super tasty and quite addictive.

In addition to saving calories in comparison to deep frying, making wedges in the Air Fryer makes them crispier than baking in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 3 big – Potato cut in wedges shape
  • 1 tbsp – Honey or maple syrup if vegan
  • 1 tsp – Paprika
  • 1 tbsp – Pink salt
  • 1 tsp – Freshly crushed black pepper 
  • 2 tbsp – Olive oil
  • Olive oil (garnishing)
  • 1 tbsp – Thyme (dried)
  • 3 tbsp – Plain/Vegan cream cheese
  • 200 gms – Plain/Vegan Feta cheese
  • 4 tbsp – Water

Potatoes – Russets are the best potatoes for making wedges because they’re high in starch and have the perfect oblong shape. The result will be less crispy and the wedges will take a few minutes longer to cook if you use Yukon gold, red or white potatoes. The results will still be delicious, though!

Do you have limited time? Pre-cut frozen potatoes work well. You will have to thaw them completely before cooking.

Honey or Maple syrup – It adds a little sweetness to our feta dip.

Feta Cheese – To make this dip we will be using vegan feta cheese but if you are not vegan just use any plain feta cheese.

Cream cheese – To make this dip even creamier I use vegan cream cheese but if you are not vegan use any good cream cheese.

Other Seasoning – I used paprika, pink salt to taste, thyme dried, and freshly crushed black peppercorns.

  1. Note: Soak the potato wedges in cold water for 15 minutes and then drain out water it will help them to get even crisper. Keep it aside for later use. Boil the potato wedges in water on high flame for 5 minutes.
  2. For the feta dip: In a food processor add plain/vegan feta cheese, vegan cream cheese, olive oil, black pepper powder, dried thyme or rosemary, honey or maple syrup, and little water.
  3. Blend it into a smooth paste.
  4. Keep aside for later use.
  5. Dry the potato wedges with a towel well and in a baking tray, place parchment paper place the potato wedges.
     
  6. Drizzle olive oil and add pink salt according to your taste. Sprinkle black pepper powder and paprika.
  7. Mix well with a spatula or spoon.
  8. Air fry them at 350°F for 15 to 25 minutes.
  9. Potato wedges are ready.
  10. In a bowl, place the feta cheese dip as a base and place the potato wedges on top.

  • Make sure to cut your potatoes flat-side down. This will prevent them from rolling around on your cutting board when you slice them. Make sure they are all the same size.
  • Before adding anything to the potatoes, pat them dry with paper towels so that the oil or seasonings will stick to them.
  • Cover each potato wedge with oil completely if you want crisp potato wedges. This will allow the air fryer to crisp the outside of the wedge. Your fries will be crispy and soft at the same time.
  • It’s important to spread out the wedges in the basket so that hot air can circulate. Ensure the wedges don’t touch and that the basket isn’t overcrowded.
  • Use good quality olive oil for drizzling.
  • Use vegan feta cheese and cream cheese if vegan otherwise go for plain ones.
  • Air fryers differ from one another. Therefore, the timing and temperature may differ. Set the timing and temperature based on your device. Edging thickness also affects the cooking process.
