- 2 medium – Potato boiled, peeled and mashed
- 200 gms – Paneer grated or cottage cheese (Optional)
- 1 small – Onion peeled and diced
- 1 medium – Red bell pepper
- 1 medium – Carrot diced
- 1 cup – Green Peas (boiled)
- 4 – Green chilli chopped
- 1 teaspoon – Paprika ( or Red chili powder)
- 1 teaspoon – Cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon – Chopped cilantro/ coriander leaves
- 6 slices – White or brown bread
- 3 teaspoon – Oil to brush the bread rolls
- 2 tablespoons – Oil to cook the stuffing
Instructions
- Warm oil in a spacious skillet. Introduce chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
- Incorporate the boiled peas, carrots, bell peppers, and green chili and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Combine all the spices, like red chili powder, cumin powder, and salt, to taste.
- Now add mashed boiled potatoes, cottage cheese, or paneer (optional), and stir everything together for 5 minutes.
- Now add parsley or coriander leaves, chopped. Now mix nicely.
- Remove it from the heat. Move the stuffing to a bowl and allow it to cool for a while..
- Now Submerge the bread partially in water using a bowl. The goal is to make the bread pliable enough to roll.
- Take the bread out of the water and firmly squeeze to eliminate excess water. The bread should not feel sticky between your hands; if it does, continue pressing to remove all the moisture.
- Fill the bread with the potato and pea stuffing. Position the cooled potato mixture in the center.
- Commence rolling the bread inward by bringing all the edges together.
- Fold in the other two sides.
- Initiate rolling the bread between your palms.
- Continue rolling the bread until it takes on a cylindrical shape.
- Ensure it is sealed on all sides.
- Repeat the procedure with the remaining mixture until all the bread rolls are shaped.
- Place the bread rolls in the air fryer tray or basket and place them on parchment paper greased with oil. Place the bread rolls on paper, and then coat the rolls with oil using a brush.
- Air-fry at 380°F for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the bread rolls turn crispy and brown.
- When using the air fryer for baking, don’t forget to flip the bread rolls over halfway through the baking time to ensure even cooking.
- COOK-TOP METHOD: Heat oil in a kadhai or pan, and introduce the bread rolls into the hot oil.
- On a medium-low flame, cook the rolls until they turn brown and crispy. This process typically takes around 7-8 minutes for each side. Continuously brush the rolls with oil as needed.
- Take them out and serve them hot with your preferred hot sauce or green chutney.

Notes
- You can easily introduce variations to this recipe in the following ways:Bread — Whether you opt for brown bread, white bread, or even multigrain bread, each choice will yield equally delicious results in this recipe.
- Dipping in Water — Exercise caution not to immerse the bread for an extended period in the water. The goal is to moisten it enough to facilitate shaping. Alternatively, you can sprinkle water, particularly if your bread is fresh (as fresh bread inherently contains moisture).
- Customizable — Personalize these bread rolls by stuffing them with the potatoes and veggies of your preference, creating a healthier option for a fulfilling and nutritious breakfast. When air frying them, you can be confident that you are serving your family..
- Vegetables — For a healthier twist, incorporate grated, boiled, or steamed veggies such as beans, sweet corn, beetroot, carrots, cabbage, etc. Additionally, you have the option to include tofu or paneer (cottage cheese) in the stuffing.
- Other Protein — If you prefer a non-vegetarian option, you can prepare the stuffing with keema (minced meat). Ensure that the Keema mixture is dry and free from moisture.
- Oven Baking — Alternatively, you can bake the bread rolls in an OTG oven or a conventional oven at 400°F for approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Simply brush them with some oil and arrange them on a baking sheet. Bake until they achieve a crispy and evenly browned texture.
- Frying — While frying in oil, avoid overcrowding the pan to prevent potential breakage when flipping them.
- Make Ahead — Experience the convenience of these bread rolls by preparing them in advance and storing them in the fridge. When required, simply place them in a heated pan or air fryer, and voilà— the crispy, crunchy delicacy with the spicy stuffing is ready to be enjoyed.
- Prepare a Large Batch — Easily scale up the recipe by doubling or tripling the quantity of ingredients.
