Just peel the cucumbers, chop them in a thick round slice a round shape, and blend them with other ingredients and air fry them.
Because of the crisper round slices and their much lower calorie content, this technique has become my favorite, as fried cucumber fritters have much fewer calories.

How To Make Cucumber Fritters?
The very first step in this recipe is to cut round thick slices and sprinkle a little salt on them. Salt helps to extract excess moisture from the Cucumber. After about 10-15 minutes, put it into the cheesecloth this will soak the excess water.
Cook the fritters with just little oil in an Air Fryer until well done. Mix in salt, pepper, and some herbs to make the fritters taste even better.
Do Not Have An Air Fryer?
There’s no reason to be afraid! Simply heat a nonstick frying pan with a little oil and cook the prepared fritters until they’re done.
With this recipe, I only needed two batches to cook all of the fritters. I really like the XL size of the Phillips Air Fryer. It can accommodate up to 6-7 fritters at a time.
When considering a new Air Fryer, I would suggest buying a bigger model. It may cost a few extra dollars initially, but you will save money and time while utilizing it in the kitchen.
How To Bake, Toast, or Air fry Cucumber Fritters?
Cucumber Fritters can be made in three ways: in the oven or in an air fryer, or on the stovetop.
For an Oven version – For delicious cucumber fritters, preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) for five minutes while placing all fritters on a baking tray. Bake at 400°F for five minutes approximately.
While the slices are cooking, keep an eye on them. Once they are done and have turned light golden brown, turn the oven off and pile the cucumber fritters onto serving platters.
The Stovetop method – It is straightforward. Place the prepared cucumber slices coated with bread crumbs and spices on a hot skillet. Cover the pan with a lid and cook until the cucumber slices are crisp and you can also put grated vegan cheese on top after frying both sides for 2 minutes each and wait till it melts and the bottom is golden.
Having the fritters cooked on a Tawa would be a totally different experience since it would have a different appearance from the fritters cooked in an oven. Golden spots will appear on both of them as its bread crumb coated and taste will be equally good.
Air fry method – Frying cucumber fritters in an air fryer usually takes about 5 minutes. The length depends on how thick the slice is and how crispy you like your coating. I suggest you start with 5 minutes and add a few minutes if you want your fritter a little crisper.
For 5 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, close up the Air Fryer and cook the fritters, flipping them halfway and then spraying with spray halfway. I have shown this process below.
- 2 – Cucumber
- 1/2 cup – Soy milk/ Almond milk
- 1 tsp – Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp – Onion powder
- 1 tsp – Garlic powder
- 1 tsp – Black pepper
- 1 tsp – Sea salt
Cucumber – Cucumber is an important ingredient in this dish because it is an incredibly hydrating vegetable. Peel the cucumber before grinding it with the other ingredients to prepare it.
The English cucumber which I used has very few seeds and produces very flavorful fritters. But you can use any cucumber that’s readily available to you.
Almond Milk/Soy Milk – I used almond milk in the recipe to make it vegan, but low-fat milk could also be used.
Seasoning – There are many different seasonings you can use in the vegetable fritter, such as black pepper, oregano, red chili flakes, Cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and sea salt depending on your taste.
Bread crumbs – In addition, breadcrumbs are needed to cover batter-coated fritters. Crumbs contribute to keeping the batter in place and helping the fritters become even crispier.
To make cucumber fritters, you can use cornflakes or breadcrumbs instead of breadcrumbs.
How To Make Air Fryer Cucumber Fritters Recipe Step By Step With Photo:
- Into the almond milk add cayenne pepper, onion powder, sea salt, garlic powder, black pepper powder.
- Mix everything together.
- Take one piece of cucumber dip it in the almond milk mixture.
- Coat the cucumber in breadcrumbs.
- In the same manner, prepare all the cucumber pieces in the same way.
- Grease the air fryer with some oil.
- Place the crumbed cucumber pieces.
- Spread some oil on the top.
- Set the air fryer mode to 350 degrees F or 200° C degrees.
- Set the timer for 4 minutes.
- Take it out. Serve hot.
Important Suggestion To Keep In Mind
- Buy firm cucumber with a deep, glossy green color, without any dents or blemishes. Press lightly all over and examine its firmness. Always purchase cucumber that is firm and looks fresh.
- For 5 minutes at 360 degrees Fahrenheit, close up the Air Fryer and cook the fritters, flipping them halfway and then spraying with spray halfway.
- Before cutting the cucumber, thoroughly clean it using clean water and then cut both ends of the cucumber and scrub the surface a little and remove the ends and again wash it. Give gentle pressure when rinsing.
- Air Fryer does not require a great deal of oil to give the food a fried texture. These fritters were made in the Air Fryer by brushing oil lightly over the surface.
- These fritters are low in saturated fat as cheese or butter is omitted.
On their own, Cucumber fritters are divine with a cup of hot Adrak Wali Chai. They also taste great paired with Tomato Ketchup and Mint Coriander Chutney.

Cucumber fritters are best made fresh as they become soft if kept for too long. However, you can store the almond mixture for up to four days in an airtight container.
Take it out of the fridge, make fritters but freshly cut cucumber slices and then coated in almond milk mixture and bread crumb and then air fry or shallow fry them to serve. Add the salt only when you are ready to make the fritters.
