Description

Air Fryer Cheese Croutons are cheese croutons that are prepared with less oil in an air fryer. They are a tasty and crispy garnish for soups and salads, or they can be eaten on their own as a snack. These flavorful, simple-to-make croutons are made with only a few ingredients. Without using a lot of oil, the air fryer guarantees that they are properly crispy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 Slices of bread
  • Herbs Chopped coriander or parsley leaves
  • Butter room temperature
  • Chopped Garlic
  • Diced Mozzarella Cheese
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into cubes that are 1/2 inch in size. If you want your croutons to be softer, you can remove the crust; otherwise, leave it on for added crunch. Or we can take a whole slice of bread and, after air-frying, cut it into croutons.
  2. In a bowl, add room-temperature butter, minced garlic, and coriander or parsley, chopped finely.
  3. Now mix nicely.
  4. Now place the bread slices on a piece of parchment paper on an air-frying basket or tray.
  5. Now add finely diced or shredded mozzarella cheese to the bread slices.
  6. Now take another bread slice and add the butter mixture nicely.
  7. Place the butter mixture on the bread slice and the cheese bread slice.
  8. Preheat: Give your air fryer a three- to five-minute warmup period at 350°F/175°C. This process guarantees uniform cooking of the croutons.  Put bread slices in the air fryer. Line the air fryer basket with the bread slices, arranged in a single layer. A little overlap is OK, but for optimal effects, keep things from getting too crowded.
  9. Cook for five to seven minutes. To guarantee even browning, shake the basket or tray halfway through the cooking process.
Check the bread slices to see whether they are done after five to seven minutes. They ought to be crispy and golden brown. If more time is needed, air-fry them for one minute at a time until the right level of crispness is achieved.
  10. Take the air fryer’s bread slices out and place them on a wire rack or wooden tray to cool. As they cool, they will continue to get a little crispier.
  11. Now cut them with a knife into air fryer croutons.
  12. Snack on your handmade cheese croutons or add them to soups and salads.

Notes

  • To ensure that the bread cooks evenly, cut it into cubes of comparable size.
  • Set your air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit before adding bread.
  • If your air fryer does not have a preheat setting, set it to 390F for five minutes. As a result, the croutons will be more uniformly and thoroughly cooked and crispier.
  • To make sure they crisp up evenly, stir any layers that are frying more than once after three minutes and then every few minutes after that.
  • Store at room temperature in an airtight container.
